ABOUT THE WORK:
Christopher Wool (b. 1955), whilst possessing a wide range of painterly styles, is best known for his large, black stencilled letters onto white canvases. Taking simultaneous influence from street, Pop and Conceptual art movements, Wool transforms the written word into painterly method with a brashness that remains resonant today. Words and phrases are fractured and abstracted through a grid-like arrangement - Black Book collates this renowned format into a 17 piece collection. Each page contains a single word, inscribed like a large scale code.
Lougher Contemporary will provide the buyer of this print with a gallery Certificate of Purchase which will include a photo of the justification page, where the book was signed and numbered by Christopher Wool.
