ABOUT THE WORK:
This print is associated with Damien Hirst’s iconic “Pharmaceutical” series, comprised of grids of brightly coloured dots which explore the interaction between pure colours. Hirst's titles refer to chemical compounds used in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries, drawn from the company Sigma-Aldrich’s catalogue "Biochemicals for Research and Diagnostic Reagents". Using several different mediums and formats throughout the series, Hirst considers the creative variations possible within a rigid, predetermined compositional system, applying the exacting logic of science to art making.
